Why was I asked if I paid taxes on a specific second property in a different county? I only own 1 property.

It could be a question that is asked because there is a specific tax benefit available for that specific county. If it does not apply to you, just answer no.

For example, there is a question that comes up when going through the Indiana tax return asking if the taxpayer has a property that is located in Lake County, Indiana. In the event that the answer is yes, then there is additional information needed for the Lake County residential income tax credit.
