Question

Will my landlord know if I claim the homestead property tax credit? He asked me not to. Can I still claim the credit if I don't use my landlord's information?

My landlord doesn't want me to claim this credit. So I'm just wondering if it will affect him if I do claim it but don't use his name and address?

    Which state are you asking about?

    Generally, no you cannot claim the credit without their information.  For most states, to claim the homestead tax credit, you must include your landlords name and address.  As to how it affects him, again, that would depend on the state if it affects him at all.
