Won't let me e-file because I didn't complete Adoptive Child Worksheet. Do not have an adoptive child. How do I get past this?

Check you entries in the Personal Info Section to make sure you didn't accidentally select Adopted.

In that section select edit next the child's name and continue to the screen "Tell us about your child"

If you don't have an adopted child checked, you can delete Form 8839 as follows:
