Worked for tax-exempt church who didn't pay state tax for my goods & services, where do I enter uncollected taxes. They sent me tax-exempt certificate in lieu of local state tax. It's over $1000.

    You are asking about a sales tax issue for sales taxes not collected which is not deductible on an income tax return.  This is handled on the state sales tax forms so ask them for filing instructions.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Does anyone know where this non-collected local tax amount goes in a PA tax filing?

    I received a Tax Exempt Certificate from a church with my bill & payment minus the state tax amount.

    The uncollected tax is over $1000 for the year.

    @EGDM

    Lets think about this logically ... if a client is sales tax exempt and you do not collect or remit the sales tax why do you think you can deduct something not collected or remitted on an income tax return?

    If the state requires you to report this on the sales tax filing then you will need to read the sales tax remittance rules on the instructions and/or the state's sales tax office.
