Both my fiancé and I are listed on our 1098 for our house. Do we have to split the interest and property taxes or can one of us just put it on our taxes? What is the requirement? As of right now if we are splitting it, we are getting nothing back from our house when we have paid 13,500$ in interest this year, if one of us does it, we would actually get money back.
