in working with the 1098-T on the page where it asks "did student (name) receive a Scholarship in 2019? The boxes yes and no are already checked and will now allow me to 'uncheck' and answer the question.

How do I fix this? Also, when I fill in the info from 1098 T the qualified expenses for 2019 are $10,461 the scholarship monies applied to this were $6,752 (i e. all scholarship monies applied to qualified tuition and fees) yet the result says student applied to unqualified expenses and says student has to claim as income. Please advise. Thank you.

After verifying that you answered "No" to the question "Pay for Room and Board with a Scholarship or Grant?" you might have to delete form 1098-T and reenter it. Please follow the steps here: How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

Log into TurboTax
Click "Federal" in the menu on the left side
Click on "Deductions &Credits"
Scroll down to "Expenses and Scholarships(Form 1098-T)" and click "Edit"
Click "edit" next to the student's name
Scroll down to "Scholarships/Grants (for all schools)" and click "edit"
