Got married Oct 2019. Filing married jointly.

My wife has student loans which her parents were paying for through Dec 2019.

She also received a 1098-T from the school.

Questions:

Do I have to enter her 1098-T in my filing? Or let her parents enter that?

Do I have to enter her 1098-E in my filing? Or let her parents enter that?

You will need to enter all of the information on your return.

Since you were married as of December 31st, 2019, her parents can no longer claim her as a dependent and therefore, are not eligible to claim the education credits.
