1098-T Bugs Still on July 14th!
When answering if the student if the student received a 1098-T from their school in 2018 (the previous tax year), if you answer yes you get another question asking if there was any entry in Box 2. If you answer no, that is the last question. The Form 8863 Page 2, which these questions populate, enters "no" for the question " Did the student receive Form 1098-T from this institution for 2018 with box 7 checked?." This question was never asked. My forms were rejected 3 times. IF, however, you answer that there was an entry in Box 2, another question pops up asking if Box 7 was checked, where you can answer yes. This carries through to the right answer on the Form 8862. So I have to lie to get the correct answer. THEN THE FORM STILL GETS REJECTED!!!!! TURBOTAX SAYS DELETE IT ALL AND RE-ENTER OR JUST MAIL IN THE FORMS!!!!! GEE, THANK YOU FOR NOTHING, CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK?
