Can I include 1098 T form in tax return to get an educational credit for the fees which I paid in 2019. I was enroll in the college for only one month and box 8 in 1098-T form is unchecked. Am I eligible to file 1098T form while filing tax returns and expect to get returns from the fees?

You may be eligible for the Lifetime Learning credit or the tuition fees deduction.

    Simple answer: Yes.

The 1098-T is only any informational document. You claim the tuition credit,  based on your own records, not the 1098-T*.

If you were half time or more, for the 1 month you attended classes, you can claim the credit. After entering the 1098-T, TT will ask you to verify whether you were half time or more.  Not having box 8 checked does slightly increase your audit risk.

The more generous credit (American Opportunity) requires that you be half time or more.  There are other credit/deductions if you were less than half time (see other reply).

*If you claim the tuition credit, you do need to report that you got one or that you qualify for an exception (the TurboTax interview will handle this)
