1098-T Reporting

I've noticed what might be a little inconsistency in the 1098-T reporting.  It's pretty straight forward to enter the tuition from Box 1 on the form.  However, later in the education section that same number shows up as "tuition and enrollment fees".  But according to the university the number on the 1098-T labeled as tuition is merely that, without enrollment fees.  I suppose I could enter tuition and enrollment fees when entering that data on the 1098-T section but then that won't match box one on the form, which creates a bit of a potential inconsistency.

Your university may only enter tuition, but box 1 is allowed to be both tuition and fees that qualify for the credit (most fees).  So, in most cases, "tuition and enrollment fees" is the correct description.

You can ignore that.
