1098-T "This is not what I paid to this school"

I am filing my 1098-T form for the first time. Below where it has you input the amount in Box 1, it gives you an option to check a box that says "This is not what I paid to this school." I did not pay any money out of pocket to this school, all of it was paid for by scholarships and grants. If this is the case, should I select that box?

No, you should not check the box.

The box is intended for certain cases where more tuition was paid to the school than was reported in box 1 of Form 1098-T.

Box 5 of your Form 1098-T should indicate the amount that was paid by scholarships and grants.
