1098T Question

My 2019 1098T has box 1 empty and shows my scholarship money in box 5.  The payment history in my account on the school's website shows I paid all my tuition expenses in January of 2019.  This was my final semester before graduation.  Can I claim what I paid on my 2019 return?  Or should I request a corrected 1098T from my school?  Or should I just not claim education expenses and scholarships?

You can report the payments you made in January 2019 in the section below.  Do not alter the amounts that were reported on your 1098-T form.

Go to the Federal interview section.

    1. Select "Deductions & Credits"
    2. Select "Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T)" and click start/edit
    3. When you see Your Education Expenses Summary, select Edit to the right of your name.  You will see the following screen:

    Expense input

Enter your expenses as applicable in the section as it applies above.

I don't see a screen that looks like what you posted.  Should I just put the tuition in the Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098T) section?  It seems like this works because it shows the total amount to be the same amount as when I subtract my scholarships from my tuition.

Yes, that form is generated after you enter that information.
