As a University Professor, I have a benefit that allows my daughter to attend the University, Tuition Free.  The amount of that benefit is included in the Scholarship or grants section of her 1098-T.  In Turbo-Tax, it asks if any portion of the amount in that box is Tax-Free employer provider assistance.  Since it is provided by my employer, should I put that amount in the box it is asking to include it.  Not sure if this "Employer provided assistance" refers to my employer or hers??

    A.  No.  Technically, what you have you have is a tuition waiver.  The fact that it is in box 5 of the 1098-T with offsetting Tuition in box 1 is all that's needed.
