I understand that I don’t have to report the 1099Q on my child’s tax return since all the distributions were used for college but do I have to check the box that she received one or leave it blank?

Yes, you do not have to report 1099-Q if all of the distributions were used for qualified expenses for education.

Yes, you have to check the box.

I'm not sure what box you're asking about. The only one I see is at the screen titled "Tell us about your education plans".

You get two yes/no boxes titled:

-Were you the beneficiary of a Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA)?

-Did you receive a form 1099-Q for distributions from a Coverdell ESA or a Qualified Tuition program (QTP)?

You do NOT have to answer those yes.  Answering yes just sends you into the interview that is going to get complicated and is not needed, in your situation.
