2022 1098-T Doesn't Reflect Scholarships Received in 2023 but I already filed

I've already filed my son's taxes reflecting his 2022 1098-T amounts, which included an academic period starting Jan-Mar (box 7 is checked). Then, I found out he received an additional scholarship and pell grant in January 2023 for that period that wasn't reflected in his 1098-T for 2022. He is actually graduating from college in April 2023.

Obviously, he'll receive a 2023 1098-T that will show that scholarship. Do I need to amend his 2022 taxes and include that amount in "Other scholarships and grants" or just have him pay the taxes for his scholarship on his 2023 return when he will no longer be counted as enrolled student?

Do not amend. The scholarship will come on the 2023 form. You can only claim expenses paid in 2023 or the first 3 months of 2024, which you won't have.

It is common for the graduating student to get hit with the scholarship at the end.
