Additional education expenses not on 1098-T

My son is in college and we received a 1098-T.  He is a dependent so I am filing it with our tax return.  We have paid additional education cost for his books and school materials that are not in box 1 or 2 of the 1098-T.  How do I deduct those in addition to the 1098-T and where do I enter it in Turbo Tax Deluxe?

To enter the cost of books and other education expenses:

    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Go to Federal Taxes.
    3. Go to Deductions and Credits.
    4. Scroll down to Education and click show more.
    5. Select Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T) and click revisit.
    6. Select Edit next to the student's name .
    7. Scroll down and click Edit next to Other Education Expenses (for all schools).

not that those other books and other educational expenses have to be REQUIRED by the classes he is taking.  For example, books required for the class are fine, but Room and Board is not.
