Somehow Turbotax has it listed that I have a felony conviction. I do not, i've never even been arrested. How do I fix this?

You need to revisit the education section to make the correction.

To be eligible for American opportunity credit student shouldn't  have a federal or state felony conviction for possessing or distributing a controlled substance as of the end of the tax year.

    • Login to your account.
    • Select Federal from the left menu.
    • Go to Deductions and Credits,
    • Scroll down to Education.
    • Select Edit next to Expenses and Scholarships (For 1098-T)
    • Select Edit next to the student's name
    • Select Edit next to Education Information.
    • On the screen This is just on of those things we have to ask you select No to the question Have you ever had a felony drug conviction?
