American Opportunity Tax Credit for UK school
My daughter is a freshman at a university in England. The school is 529 eligible and does have a U.S. federal school code assigned to it. Are we eligible for the American Opportunity Tax Credit? We do fall under the $180K MAGI ceiling.
And, if we do quality, how do I enter this in TurboTax? I entered preliminary info when I wasn't sure of the number. Now TurboTax doesn't let me enter anything into the Federal Taxpayer ID field (if that's even the right field to use). Nor does it seem to give me the option to wipe out the school info and start from scratch.
