Q. Are boot camp and infantry training school considered to be school?

A. No. No military training is considered being a student, even going to West Point.

But, while you are in basic training and advanced individual training, you are considered as only being temporarily  away  from your parent's home (if that was where you were living prior to going into service). So, you meet the residency rule for being a dependent.
