Can i claim money paid for student tuition, (form 1098T)?

Only if you are claiming the student. If the parent is claiming the student, the parent claims the education credit. If the student is claiming self, student takes the credit.

 

In addition, you had to have paid more than you received in scholarships. Please look at another of my answers for help with this situation.
