Can I claim my fiancee as a dependent? She made more money than me, but all of it went toward student loans while I paid for living expenses.

We lived together during the tax year and I paid the majority of living expenses while she paid down her large student loan debt. However, she made a little more than me. Does that make her a dependent?

No.

Paying off student loans is part of her "support". You cannot have provided more than half her support if she made more money than you and spent it all on loans (or anything else).

I figured, but it couldn't hurt to ask. Thank you!

No, you cannot claim your fiancee as a dependent if she worked and her gross income is over $4,050 in 2017.
