Question

Can I claim my tuition(1098-t) while just using the free turbo tax program(1040ez)? First year paying out of pocket for school.

The TurboTax online editions for tax year 2019 have yet to be released so whether or not you can use the Free online edition to report education expenses is not known. 

For 2018 the Free online edition did not support entry of a Form 1098-T so only the Deluxe online edition or higher had to be used.

If that is also the case for tax year 2019, then you may be able to use the Free File Program from TurboTax which usually becomes available in mid January.
