Can I deduct 1098-E student loan interest without itemizing?

    Yes.

     

    The student loan deduction is not an itemized deduction.

    Technically, it's an "adjustment to income" and goes on Schedule 1, then to form 1040.

    Student loan interest is not an itemized deduction for Schedule A.   You can use student loan interest without itemizing deductions.
