Can I deduct expenses for school registration and fees for my kids?

I have had to pay fees this year for my elementary school student, middle school student, and high school students who are in public school. Are any of these fees deductible? I only see a place to put expenses for higher education.

TurboTax Self Employed Online

Education expenses for grades K-12 are not deductible on your Federal tax return. Some states allow such. If your state does, then it will be covered in the state interview.

Public school used to be covered in taxes. Now I find that the cost to send my child to public school is approaching the cost of private school. What a crock!
