Can I deduct the cost of Art Supplies for college classes

My daughter is enrolled in Design classes at college that require a great deal of art supplies and other materials. Is the cost of these materials considered a deductible college expense?

Books, materials, and supplies may be qualified education expenses.

To enter these education expenses in TurboTax:

Type Education Expenses in the Find box and click Find.
Click Jump to Education Expenses.
Click the drop-down arrow to Choose the Student and click Continue.
Continue through the screens answering questions about the student, the school, and the education expenses. You will encounter a screen where you may enter Books and Materials. (See the screenshot below).
