Question

Can I file my Interest paid from my Bar Study Loan that I got through Sallie Mae?

Sallie Mae does not generate a 1098-E for this loan and I have seen individuals say I can and I cannot. I plan on claiming it but I also want to see if there is a finite answer out there.

You should enter the interest as though you did receive a Form 1098-E.  The link here can provide the entry instructions to enter your student loan interest. Follow these instructions whether or not you received a 1098-E from your lender:.
