The program is looking for 2020 information only. Only 2020 forms and information goes on a 2020 return. Since no student loan interest was paid for 2020, there would be nothing to enter.

You can find your 2019 information with your 2019 return. If the student loan interest was not entered on the 2019 form, you can amend 2019 to add it.

@zack0762   Do you need to prepare a 2019 return?  Or amend one you filed to add the interest to 2019?  Online is only for 2020 return now.

Why  are you trying to enter 2019 interest?

since i'm using my husbands account for our joint return, it had all his 2019 info already and in the 2019 "column" it showed his student $ amount and then it had a column for 2020 which was blank of course and i accidentally deleted it thinking it would keep the 2019 info in that spot.

anywho... I'm assuming I don't need to worry about it? cause when he filed his 2019 taxes he had all the needed info on his tax return (printed it all out at the time).

No don't worry about it.
