Can we claim tuition payments for our daughter's high school education in CA?

High school tuition payments are not claimable on federal taxes.  Some states do allow you to claim expenses for private schools.  In your child is attending a private high school due to special needs, there may be some tax breaks.

 

Paying for the high school education from a 529 or Coverdell plan will give you tax free earnings on the savings.
