Dependent has a student loan, don't see where to enter this in TurboTax

My son is paying for his education with a student loan in his name this year. I am not paying his education expenses. I am declaring him as my dependent.

I don't know how to input this in TurboTax. If I input the information from his 1098-T and click no for 529 disbursement, my refund number gets really large. I don't see a way to say that he has a student loan and I am not paying his education expenses this year.

Should I not input the 1098-T information for him?

A dependent cannot report education expenses on their tax return.  You report the Form 1098-T on your return since the student is your dependent.

Nothing about the student loan is entered in TurboTax (TT) or the IRS tax forms, on either your tax return or his.

Since he is your dependent, you are allowed to claim the education credit on your tax return, even though he was the one to pay the expenses.

Although the general rule, in taxes, is that you must be the one making the payment, to get the deduction or credit, there is an exception for education.
