Dependent Student and parent both entered 1098T on prior year's taxes. Student's taxes weren't affected. Should student amend and delete 1098T from prior year?

This is for tax year 2018. If student should amend 2018 taxes, will 2019 taxes be affected by deleting the 1098T form from 2018 taxes?

You only have to file the amendment if removing the 1098-T makes a change on their 2018 tax return.   If the student did not receive any educational credits there is probably no need to amend.  You can prepare the amendment to be certain and if there is no change, don't file it.  If there is a reportable change, go ahead and file it.

And no, the change to the 2018 return will have no effect on the 2019 return.
