I did not add scholarship info on MY taxes last year for my dependent that I claimed. Do I have to amend it? She filed her own taxes.

It depends. Sometimes scholarships are more than the tuition and fees paid, in that case you may need to amend, because you may have taken too large a credit.

If the scholarships are taxable because the money was not spent on qualified education expenses, that taxable scholarship goes on the student's tax return.

You should start an amendment and see if adding the scholarships change your credit. If it does, you should amend the return as soon as possible.

If I go through the amend process on TurboTax can I cancel the process at anytime or will I be required to complete the changes?
