Question

Do I need to file money spent or file a 1098-T for tuition paid for preschool?

Maybe- if you qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Credit or received employer-provided child care funds, you can use pre-school tuition as qualified expenses.  If this does not apply, you would not have to report the tuition.  Only college, university, vocational school, or other postsecondary educational institutions send 1098-T for the tuition.
