Do I need to file multiple 1098 for the same loan?

My lender sent me 2 1098 forms in January for the same loan. Do they both need filing? The only difference is the newer one has a lower ending principal.

No, you do not need to file both 1098s.  Form 1098 is an informational form used to prepare your tax return.  You may use the Form 1098 with the lower ending principal when preparing your tax return.
