Classes or workshops are deductible as an itemized deduction in many cases, but not if they qualify you for a new career or are simply outside the realm of your business.

 

Further education is the term given to any education after secondary school (aka high school) that is not an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. It's what you learn after the age of 16, but usually not at university.

 

Only Higher Education expenses qualify for the education tax credits.
