I have two 1098 T for the same student.  One from community college, where the student was only enrolled for one class, so not more than half-time.  The other is from a university where the student was full time and the box is checked.  When I enter both into Turbo Tax, it refuses the AOTC and lists "not more than half time student" as the reason for not qualifying.  It then goes to the Lifetime Learning Credit.  How to over ride this problem?  The student was full time and has enough expenses to qualify for the AOTC.  If I delete the community college 1098T, the program gives her the AOTC.

When you enter the community college 1098-T, check Box 8 since your student was a full-time student at the other college.

There is no requirement to attend each college as "at least" a half time student. The requirement is that the student be enrolled as "at least" a half time student in a qualified institution of higher learning. Your student more than meets the requirement with just one school.
