The educator expense deduction allows eligible educators who teach in kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms to deduct up to $250 a year in qualified out-of-pocket expenses. What you describe doesn't sound like kindergarten through grade 12.

No.  The educator expense deduction is for teachers of K-12, not university employees.
