Here's how to edit the 1098-T in TurboTax:

  • From Deductions & Credits
  • Expenses and Scholarships (form 1098-T) hit Update
  • From the page that says Now Let's Gather The Additional Education Expenses
  • Hit Continue. You will need to continue through several screens until you get to the screen that says Your Education Expenses Summary click Edit
  • At Here's Your Education Summary you can Edit, Delete or Add New School

I followed these instructions and was able to enter my tuition expenses from the 1098-T. But it did not change my tax liability.

This is what my screen said:

I got this result:

And on the summary fro Deductions and Credits it looks like this:

Shouldn't the figure I entered from Form 1098-T be in the 2019 column for Expenses and Scholarships row?

Did you have any scholarship income? If the scholarship income was more than your expenses, then you can't use the education expenses to generate a credit.
