Today, I would like to file past year 1098T tax form.

Before I do, I just want to know the route.

And I have several questions about it.

1. Can I still available to file past year 1098T since 2014.

2. Is there any penalties going to be charge because those are old.

3. Am I still able to get refund from prior years taxes?

4. I paid whole tuition for whole 5 years with an international card. Can I get a refund on different account (US bank)?

    1.  You can file back as far as you want. You can not get a refund for 2014 and 2015.
    2. They will not charge penalties. It is the opposite, they pay you interest.
    3. You can get refunds for 2016, 2017 and 2018. You have until April 15 to file for 2016 and get a refund.
    4. The IRS will mail you a check.

    I appreciate your information.

By the way, I still have several questions from your reply.

    1. Then, if I can get a refund from 2016 tax, how to file those?

    2. Can I file those tax on online?

    3. If I cannot, what is the route of filing old 1098T?

    4. If IRS send me a check, is this check going to be included whole 3 years (2016-2018) refund fees?

    1. Here is a link for  how to prepare prior year returns.

    2. No

    3. You will need to mail each return separately.

    4. Each year is a separate check.
