I did my taxes alone last year and put my education info in to get a tax credit; my father did not put me as a dependent. Can I file my taxes alone this year and my dad put me as a dependent along with my education info this year?

Your dad can claim you as a dependent if he provided more than half of your support. If he claims you as a dependent, he alone can claim your education credits.

If you had income, you should file your own tax return. Just remember to indicate that Someone else is claiming you as a dependent.
