Hello, regarding the stimulus check...i am a full time college student and i work. if my dad did not claim me as his dependent then i need to click im not dependent ?

If you are under 24 and a full time student, your parent(s) can claim you as a dependent if you do not provide for more than half of your own support.

If this is the case and they choose not claim you as a dependent, you are NOT eligible for the stimulus check.

the tricky part of the question is that Turbo Tax asks CAN your parents claim you as a dependent. Whether they decide not to is not material.

if you CAN be claimed as a dependent, you are not eligible for the stimulus check.

if they are providing more than 50% of your support (think rent, food, utilities, car, insurance COLLEGE TUITION), under the age of 24 and full time student, then you are their dependent for tax purposes,whether they want to claim you or not.
