Question

How can I deduct work expenses like continued education courses, recertifications, and insurance?

If you are an employee then the un-reimbursed job expenses deduction has been suspended for tax years 2018-2025.  You cannot take that deduction in 2020. This deduction was replaced with a higher standard deduction for those tax years.  

 

If you are self-employed, you will enter those items as expenses in the "Self-employment" interview under the "Income & Expenses" tab.
