Solved

How do I claim my son's college tuition expenses without claiming the AOC. I know that in the future his tuition will be much more expensive and I would prefer to wait.

You are able to change the credit, type   letme   into the search box:

This does not work in the desktop version.

Can anyone give an answer for that?

The presentation may vary.  Here a couple of variations:

Type letme (no space between let & me) in the search box. Then press enter. Then  click  on the link "jump to letme''.

Type letme (no space between let & me) in the search box. When the dropdown list appears, click on letme rather than "jump to letme'. On the next drop down, click on the "jump to letme” link.

There is a 4 time limit for claiming the AOTC and the AOTC is not allowed after the student has completed 4 years of post secondary education (can't be used for grad school or a 2nd degree)
