How do I claim tuition and education expenses as an International student who do not receive a form 1098t?

Unless you can claim an exception, you won't be able to file without a 1098-T. When you report your educational expense, the first question will ask:
- Did you get a 1098-T for the year 2020? You will say no.
- Next screen will say OK, let's see if you qualify for an exception
- Here if you qualify for the exception, you can check that you qualify. I have included a screenshot that outlines the qualifications and this is the screen you will see in your return.
