How do I correct turbotax desktop on how it counts number of years of college. I'm trying to get an education credit but it says it's over 4 years of college incorrectly

That's not a mistake TurboTax (TT) can make.  You make those two entries. There are two "4 year" issues: 1. "Had your earned four years of college credit before 2023" and 2. "Number of years the American Opportunity Credit was claimed (after being asked if you ever received the American Opportunity or Hope credit). 

If you can't find your error, delete the student and re-enter all the info. Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary".  Click delete next to the student's name.  You'll then get the "Your Education Expenses Summary" screen again.  Click the "Add a student" button.
