How do I file for the homeless grant called the EIP

The EIP (Economic Impact Payment) is not a homeless grant. It is a stimulus payment sent out to every taxpayer with income of less than $75,000 in 2020.

If you did not receive the first two stimulus payments ($1,200 and $600), you can claim them as the Recovery rebate credit by filing a 2020 tax return.

Even if you did not have any income in 2020, you can use the free edition of TurboTax Online to prepare and e-file your tax return in order to claim the stimulus payments known as the Recovery Rebate credit. The federal return will file as usual and will not be rejected. Any state return should be removed, as there will not be a state filing requirement.
