You can add your son as a dependent in the My Info section. 

Click My Info on the left side-bar

Continue through the interview questions until you get to the screen that allows you to Add a dependent

If he is already listed on your return, go to the same screen and click Edit next to your son's name.

If your son is under 19, you will not be asked the student question at the personal info section. That will come later at the education expenses section. 18 and under qualifies as a dependent without being a student
