Question

I am a resident alien, and I have no income, but I do receive scholarship that covers part of my tuition. Do I still need to file any tax form? Like 1040 or 8843?

I know that if you are an Non-resident alien with no income, you need to file the 8843 form. Do resident alien with no income also need to o that? Also, do I need to file tax for my scholarship?

No, you don't need to file a tax return if you have no income and your scholarship does not exceed your qualified education expenses.  As a resident alien, you are taxed the same as a US citizen.  You do not need to file Form 8843, as that is is an informational statement required to be filed by certain nonresident aliens (including the spouses or dependents of nonresident aliens).
