I am receiving a message that I am not eligible to take the Education Credit, however, I have a dependent who is a FT college student.

Nobody else can claim her and I paid her tuition.

Please be aware we cannot see your return.  Please verify that she shows as your dependent in the "My Info" section (click on "My Info" on the left). 

 

Please review the requirements for the education credits. If your income is too high you might not qualify.

If you are eligible, you have answered  something wrong, in the interview.  Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary".  Click edit next to the student's name. That should take you to a screen “Here’s your Education Summary”. Click edit next to “Education Information”.   Go thru the interview again, to be sure you answered the qualifying questions correctly.
