Question

I am stuck in the 1098 section. My house was paid off in 2021. I don't have a 1098 for 2022. How do I move on?

Mortgage interest isn't required to itemize but may put you below the limit to itemize of $12,950 single/MFS or $25,900 for MFJ. See About Schedule A (Form 1040), Itemized Deductions - Internal Revenue Service. You can delete any information that has been carried over. Depending on the version, there should be a "delete" or a trashcan.  If online, see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?  I also recommend looking for more deductions. You can review the IRS website on deductions and credits. Congratulations!
