I am trying to see if I qualify for the WI Homestead credit. For the Scholarships and grants section of this would I just put the number from my 1098-T form? Thank you!!!

    To qualify for the Wisconsin Homestead Credit, you must be a legal resident of Wisconsin for the entire year, be 18 years or older, and have a household income of less than $24,680. Additionally, you or your spouse must have earned income, be disabled, or be 62 years of age or older.

     

    Yes, for the Wisconsin Homestead Credit, you should include the amount from Box 5 of your Form 1098-T (scholarships and grants) in the Scholarships and Grants section of your application

     

    Click this link and scroll down to Household Income (note)  to see that scholarships and grants are included in the amount that counts as income for calculating the credit.
